I was having a problem with elk brushing up against my camera so I went in today so I could set it higher. I pulled the card since I was in there and I was pleased to see that Deadeye has shown up again (3 weeks after last pics). He has put on some good growth in that time. He is definitely larger than last year!

I have really enjoyed watching him grow too... He probably won't grow a ton more but most of his tines and mainbeams are still fairly rounded so we should see at least a little more growth.

He definitely did. With these old mountain bucks I always wonder what is going on with them (did he get eaten by a mountain lion, did he die of old age, etc. etc.)...pretty soon we will have to worry about the wolves getting them too.

At his age I am not sure he would make it another year.  :chuckle:

I have minerals on the ground that he is licking and there is a little bit of corn but it's mostly gone (bears and elk).

They have really mowed down the white clover you can see on the ground behind him.
