Back on Site
« on: June 21, 2011, 10:13:41 PM »
This is my first time back on this site for quite a while.  I was a regular for a while and then a few guys jumped my case for having to return my spring bear tag last year.  I just didn't have time to use it because I was in EMT school.  Like a lot of guys I am looking for a little help so I decided to try the site again.  After applying for special hunts for 10 years my dad and I drew the nooksack tag for muzzleload but my "connection" has moved.  I am willing to do whatever it takes to help my dad, who is 62, get his first elk.  If anyone can help me out with ideas for access so I can start scouting I would greatly appreciate it.  I am calling a wildlife bioligist tomorrow but would love to get more ideas from any of you.

Which tag? Bull or cow?  I'm guessing you will get keys to the Seria Pacific main line  in Hamilton... There are a lot of nice bulls in that area... I know there are some past members here that got archery or muzzy tags. how far a way do you live? Are you going to be able to do some scouting?

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Thanks for the replies guys.  We got the quality elk 2096 for Sept 24-Oct 7 and Nov 24- Nov 30.  We live in the Buckley area but since I just got hired in the fire department I will have 4 days in a row out of every 9 days.  I plan to spend my days off scouting and hunting up there so I am looking for a descent place to park my trailer each week or possibly find a place/camp ground I can take it and pay to leave it for a month.  There was nothing in the email from Fish and Game about keys so I will have to call them back and ask about that, thanks for the heads up.

I don't know anything about the area, but good luck on the hunt and welcome back.

Welcome back, I am sorry to hear that members chased you off the site in the first place. If you have trouble in the future with personal attacks please report them, that specifically is something I want to stop from happening on this forum. I don't know the Nooksack or I would offer some help, but there are a lot of great members on here and I am sure someone will offer some advice.
