Pups are REALLY stupid.
« on: October 17, 2010, 07:39:14 PM »
I was walking the top of an eyebrow this morning deer hunting and I see this coyote out in front of me. He started to trot off and I thought what the heck lets see what happens if I lip squeak him. I start lip sqeaking as loud as possible as he runs and he just slams on the brakes. Now, I'm standing in a stubble field with no cover other than trees behing me and I'm in my orange. Anyways this little bugger just starts running right to me. He got about 50 yards away and slams on the brakes again with that "Uh Oh" look and I whacked him. I usually don't shoot coyotes during deer season but couldn't help myself this time. This was one of those really fun accidental hunts that just keep me coming back for more.

Yep, those pups have been pretty stupid up until this weekend. Those that didn't get killed by deer hunters got some schooling real quick on some missed shots  :chuckle:

Great job taking that one.

Opening weekend deer hunters educate coyotes a LOT with missed shots. They also make it harder for us to get access with their slob hunting. Been hearing some horror stories from some of my land owner friends... Shameful. I'm glad to be associated with the good hunters in the coyote madness forum. Seems like we're trying hard to do it the right way.

Wile E.

P.S. How could a coyote addict like Mark (or myself for that matter) pass up a 50 yard "begging for it" shot?
