When is a tag wasted?
When you only go once or twice or not at all?
How is a tag wasted if someone has plans to hunt when applying, but life deals them another hand during the season?

Yeah I think I'd feel bad for that person rather than being angry. I think I read once that being angry all the time will shorten a person's life span. People who draw tags and then don't get to hunt a lot didn't apply for it just to take it away from somebody else.

Nah, thinking about sitting on my tag. I will wait until fall to fill both tags.

See this thread was not started to piss people off but had a good idea some would take it that way. Lots of you on the board have known someone that has aplied for a special tag and got it and not really used it. Whether it was Bear,Elk,Dear and so one. Even you BTKR I am sure you know some one that has done it. You are a good guy and great to talk to and full of info. I was not trying to piss in your wheaties.

Well Turbokitty, guess I'm your guy.  Had plans for 4 weekend hunts to use my Blue Mountains permit.  First trip, couldn't get within a mile of the public land in my unit - we hiked through the snow to get on the NF anyway.  Glassed 11 bears in 2 days, decided to skip a weekend to let the snow melt more.  A good friend was inconsiderate enough to have a massive coronary the week before that trip, no way to hunt the Blues on the weekend and make his memorial service in Tacoma the following Monday.  Unlike a truly dedicated hunter who deserved the permit, I chose his memorial service over the weekend's hunt, and planned to use a precious vacation day to make the Memorial weekend a 4-day hunt (10 months into a new job, they are scarce to say the least).  A recurrence of my own sledgehammer-to-the-chest cardiac legacy, still planned to go with a couple of good friends to babysit, until the cardiologist put the kibosh on that.

So, another less-deserving hunter wasting a spring bear tag, with one lame attempt to hunt.  Sure hope I draw again next spring!

If someone draws a tag for any animal it is his choice to hunt 1 day, no days or hunt his ass off. Free country. Thats like getting mad at people who waste lottery winnings and believe you should get it because you would use the money better ? The dude can do what he wants with the money or tag. Can't get mad at other peoples choices, it will drive you crazy.

Yea I hate it too when people that win the lottery waste their money on stupid things. Don't they know I could use that money to go hunting!!!

 i screwed everyone last year. becauce i didnt use my all season elk tag. should of never got the stint put in my heart. sorry about that. Rick

You guys are acting like children and blowing this all out of the proportion. I was not referring to heart attacks and deaths and all of that. It was meant for people that apply for it with no intention of using it. Rick you have had lots of health problems so this does not even apply to you!
