Plans may have changed
« on: June 21, 2011, 10:57:48 PM »
So I may move some of my fishing vacation days around and hit the Klick for summer steel.  Never fished the area before. From what I have read it is spinners or plugs from a boat mouth or drifting a bobber cause of the snaggy bottom up the klick itself.  How accurate is this?  Thanks guys

Spot on. A few guys bounce eggs on the bottom and loose a lot of lead :chuckle: Blue fox spinners metalic blue is a killer. I use to fish it a lot more when I was younger. Most times I fish the mouth of most the rivers up here.

Bobbers work good, yes bottom is snaggy. Roe, shrimp, shrimp jigs, plugsall work. Expect the river to be high and dark when it gets hot out. If drift boating, take the hooks off a plug and tie a leader to one of the hook eyes, run roe or shrimp behind it ;)

I have never run a drift boat down the Klick, is there any section that would be doable for a novice rower?  What flows should I be looking for?
