Picked Up My First 1911
« on: June 23, 2011, 03:12:34 AM »
Picked up my first 1911 Wed morning...a Rock Island Armory 1911 Tactical .45 ACP.  All I've managed to due is field strip and look her over.  I can honestly say I have no complaints what so ever.  Unfortunately, I won't have the time to take her out until next week at the earliest...but I'm oh so looking forward to it.

Very Nice.  Give a range report and pictures of the target when you take it out.

One thing about 1911's, you can use them for boat anchors too, unlike 21's..... :chuckle:

Thanks everyone...I've been trying to sneak away to go shootin', but something else pops up.  Thankfully I'm on vacation for the next 5 weeks starting Monday  :IBCOOL:

You do not like the pistol because your small child size hands cannot grip it. LOL!!!    :chuckle:

Although I am not a large person, I don't have child size hands. I just don't like any 'plastic' gun. I especially don't like Glock triggers, the square shape of the slide, the fact that I can't shoot lead bullets through one without changing the barrel, and certainly don't like the thought of unsupported cases/chambers.

I am not a Glock espert, and there might be something I could learn about them that I 'might' like, but the other things that I do know about them, and having shot several over the years, I just don't like'm.

I love 1911's and .. Yeah, even certain revolvers.
