The biggest ram in the chelan unit died last winter/this spring of old age.  He was a true monster cali.

I love watching those guys.  As I type this they are about .71 miles from my house!!

There are a couple big boys in that herd for sure! Put in for that unit first choice 2 years in a row, probably never get the tag.

Personally I kind of like the ram on the right. The ram that you "dotted" and the ram on the right are close to the same score...the ram in the back that is hidden would probably score the best. Between the ram you dotted and the ram on the right it is a personal preference on horn type. Personally, I like the look of converging horns (that and they typically score higher than diverging horns that "look" to be the same size)

I can pretty much guarantee I have wasted many more hrs than most looking at pics/live rams...its crazy addicting (sheep hunting)

OK, my question is - how does it taste?
The horns look great for sure, but how does the meat taste on these sheep. I have hair sheep and love the meat. I have never eaten big horn sheep before but would love to find out.

I also raise hair sheep. I have never ate bighorn but I would bet it is pretty close to what our hair sheep are like.

Found the forum a few days ago and  have been checking out the posts. I was lucky enough to draw the Chelan Butte tag this year. Out scouting I have seen some good rams, definitely recognize some in the pictures. I'm looking forward to trying the meat, heard it's excellent. I am not a sheep expert, so would definitely take some advice.

Looks like 3 good rams to me.  Which ever gives you the best shot angle I think.  The one you dotted was my first choice also.  Awesome pictures!

I stopped and watched 4 rams by the Beebe bridge 2 weeks ago they crossed the road and went down to the river for a drink. Made me a little nervous cars are driving fast through there. Great shots you got there!
