Not sayin they are not there, but I have never seen one.
Maybe that is why they are opening earlier??

There is alot of bears on mica...when we could bait it was no problem getting bears to come in had up to 9 different bears on bait. State record was shot 1/4 mile from park boundary  ;)

maybe on of the seniors on here could pm me a good way to get up there for scouting? taking the liberty lake trail up sounded good but about half way the 5 year old was feeling it so if I could drive up closer then I can make it in further. Kiddos love being out in the wild and for scouting I really like bringing them along so they can get involved and have fun tracking.

One of the more popular access sites is at start road. It is quite a ways past the gate before you clear private and heavily posted property.

Yep, Star Rd. is definitely one of the more popular access points. I believe there is one, if not more on the Idaho side but I am not sure where at.
As far as bears go, haven't seen one one public land yet. My uncle owns some property on the North side of Mica and there is always bear sign up there. Thats about the only place we have consistently seen sign.

The weller road access is gated at the bottom and u would have a hell of a walk to the WA side to just begin hunting.

Isnt Mt Spokane open the same time? I would hunt that area..lots more access

I saw one on my moose hunt a few years ago up there on the south side.  Saw quite a bit of sign as well.
