My new toy
« on: June 24, 2011, 03:32:16 PM »
Well I decided to go over to the dark side  :yike: ... as most know over the past 3-4 years I have been "Trad Only".. Well at the NFAA shoots I have been getting tired of there only being a few in that division.  So I like I said earlier... my new toy has training wheels...  :chuckle:    So here it is... my 2011 Maitland Zeus, in pretty red with carbon fiber dipped limbs... Just got it setup with a few borrowed items and lots of help (thanks Matt)... I won't get into a certain large archery company sending me the wrong rest (LH vice RH).....  :bash:  Now to figure out how to shoot a release again....  :yike:  Thanks to Roger at Wilderness archery also!

We had the booth next to them at the NABA show this year.  Great guys and a very nice bow.  For old farts like me I don't mind training wheels as long as they are not attched to a wheelchair.  Be safe Have fun!
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

Thanks... Rob is a nice guy... What sold me was down at Redding this year,  spent a lot of time at the booth, kept walking back over, drawing the Zeus back.... finally told them... order me the red one... LOL  As an old fart myself, it is a lot easier on my 56 yr old shoulders...

it wont change a thing now instead of taking 5 minutes after the shot looking for his arrows it will just take it 5 minutes to shoot his arrows.    :chuckle:  just joking nice looking bow for sure.  Welcome to the dark side.

Now thats funny!  True at times!  :bash:  I guess I will have to figure out how to wait for everyone else to shoot... then figure out the range to the target, glass it 3-4 times... then move my sight... double check it... glass it again... Finally draw... let down 2 times and glass the target in case it moved.... then finally shoot... then glass it again... LOL

For all you active duty Military people out there... Spot Hogg has a 45% Military discount.... For those who aren't Spot Hogg sights, releases and equipment is awesome, and their customer service is top notch.

I have a shibuya on my fita recurve... love it.  The ease of use of this Spot Hogg is amazing... even for an old guy.  I have had several SPot Hogg sights in the past.  The hunter Hogg it, the Hogg it and now the Hogg Father.  The hunter Hogg it I abused in some rough stuff hunting na dit never let me down.  Now I am no expert when it comes to sights.... but I think it is as good as CBE and SHibuya both.  Those are my top 3 pics....
