Crawl around in a ghille suit. "How did you get that close??" ... "By being a sneaky *censored*, sir!" ~Clear and Present Danger

I've been able to crawl towards elk that were actually feeding and moving in my direction. You just gotta stay low and be sprayed up in some good urine lure in case the wind changes. I use Elk Fire and I think its awesome.  :twocents:

Oh yeah, and stop spittin' seeds--I was finding those in my truck for months after we last hunted.  :chuckle:

I cow call as I walk. Elk make noise and cows talk, if they don't smell or see you, you can calm them down if they just hear you.

I dont know but it seems to me I can get closer to elk than any other animal I hunt ..just by keeping the wind in my face and the instant I smell them I go into stealth mode .... :chuckle: usually fatal for the elk ..nothen cooler than gettin in on a herd of elk and having them walk all around ya and not knowing your their.... thats what I love as a bowhunter ...all about having the ability to get close ..I have killed one elk with a rifle and it was fun at the time but nothen comes close to bowhunting ..

you have to get close to them not them get close to you. keep the  wind in your favor stay low and get  close.  try to use cover to stay out of sight, some noise is ok but make sure its a natural sound.
SHUT UP & BENCH ! ! ! Bench BIG or go Home.

I usually just try to setup at an area where I think the elk will pop up and they will already be in range. :twocents:

Hunt where the elk are, not where you think they should be.

cow call softly..bust branches..elk are not quiet moving thru heavy timber. I have called in elk on 2 occasions by just busting branches..once was on accident I had spotted some elk moving across above me..i cow called for about 20 min..it was silent for about a hour..it sounded as if they had bedded...then below me I hear branches breaking..it was my dad  :chuckle: I wave to him to come up to me..soon as he got to me all the elk came down to investigate the noise
