I've drawn this tag twice you will not have to spend alot of time scouting unless you are after something huge, if all you want is a 300-320 bull show up on opening day and don't shoot the first 6 point you see, and how many points did you have, for a hunt you did'nt want

mechman,

I will trade you my cow tag for your bull tag since you can't scout... :chuckle: :chuckle:
As you come down chinook pass almost everything to your left is your unit, about 15-20 miles down will be Little Naches road, go left. This is also your area, ( welcome to "GODS COUNTRY" ). As others have said get a good map and drive the roads scouting. OCT1-10 you could kill one driving the roads, if that is what you want to do, other wise hit the deep canyons and you will find the elk....

This unit is not far from your place, just up and over white pass ...

good luck on that tag...

No argument here it is definitely beautiful country and I hope you don't waste the golden ticket you just got or you're gonna have some very upset (the nice word) hunters on your case.

This hunt has been totally changed since the Game Department opened up this unit to all bow hunters in ahead of time, not just a permit holder.

I'd give my left nu........   Never mind.

I'd give an awful lot for that tag.

If you're even slightly serious about elk hunting, you do not want to waste that tag.   Some of the most beautiful country you'll ever be able to hunt elk in.

I'll PM you a thought or two on how I'd approach it.

Thanks everyone for the input, After looking the area over I decided it would be better for me to wait and road hunt the winston with my co-workers. I don't get around as well as use to. Little naches looks too hard to road hunt. I'm glad i have the multiseason tag I hear winston has alot of elk.

This sounds like someone trying to screw with the guys with 10+ points minds.  All I know is that I have Rimrock muzzleloader oct 1-10 I do know the unit, have scouted the unit, have killed a bull the last time I drew the unit, and intend to do this again.  Season is getting close pretty excited is an understatement

That is an amazing statement..........
