Congratulations on the tag. My cousin drew the tag wit like 3 or 4 points. Should be a great hunt.

I think that more people like to hunt the entiat because of its tendency to be more open and people can drive or walk the roads and glass. Overall more people put in for it and may see more deer for the most part and there are more that winter there. But you asked better and for me I like the Chiwawa better as it is more of a challenge. I know others are going to dispute that. Both need snow to make them better for the migration. Both have potential to get a nice buck out of them. You will find the lottery deer tag winner will usually hunt the Entiat. Alot of the Chiwawa doesn't get hunted as it is a larger unit too. I just like the Chiwawa because I hunt it during the regular season and spend alot of time hiking it.
:yeah:

There are a lot of nice deer in that unit.. just more difficult to see in some parts of the unit, and less accessible.
I am not opposed to golf, for I suspect it keeps armies of the unworthy from discovering deer.

Maybe not a "true big mountain muley" in your opinion but they are great deer in my opinion for bow hunting during general season.  I like everyone else has seen bigger on the hoof and every year I think man if I had a gun I could shoot that 175-180 deer, they get big by staying out of bow range during the bow season and out of sight during rifle.  Rifle tag in the late season is a great way to score a big buck in the 170 range.  I am not sure what you consider a "true big mountain muley" but I don't recall seeing more than a few over 170 from last years hunts.

Your buddy should have a great time and see plenty of deer if the snow is there and hopefully will score what he considers a "true big mountain muley".
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.
