Accidental discharge fatality. So Sad.
« on: June 26, 2011, 02:04:02 AM »
Police responded to the scene of a fatal shooting, in a suburb of Columbus Ohio, Margarite Jenkins, age 69 was pronounced dead at the scene. She had been the victim of an accidental discharge of an R93 Blaser. Margarite had entered a workshop area of a house owned by her daughter and son in law, where her son in law was performing routine maintenance on his R93 rifle, chambered in 300 Winchester Magnum. During a discussion of her son in laws poor work ethic, and her reminding him of how her daughter could have married much better than him, the R93 accidentally discharged three times killing Margarite instantly.

A medical examiners report spoke highly of the RWS DK bullet out of the 300 Win mag,"excellent expansion, with nearly 86% weight retention, this is great performance, considering the close range of the accident" according to the report, "Mrs. Jenkins never knew what hit her" reported Examiner, James Mansker.

According to police reports, they had responded to an earlier accidental discharge on 12-11-09, then one of the victims at that time was a rather large plastic Santa that waved his arm and said "HO HO HO, MEEEERRY CHRISTMAS!" in a rather loud manner, 24 hours a day. The bullet pass through Santa, destroying the electrical workings, did a complete pass through of a six foot statue of Rudolph the red nosed reindeer, then proceeded to taking off the right arm of one of the three wise men on another neighbors nativity scene. An interview of a neighbor, retired college professor Robert Jackson concerning the incident, Jackson said "I will not miss Santa, the *censored* kept half the neighborhood awake all night long for one month, every year, for the past five years, Rudolph was no great loss ether, Rangifer tarandus have always frightened me, however the wise man was one of the good guys, sad to see him go down like that". No charges were filed concerning this accidental discharge.

The police chief made a public statement, that after a lengthy, intense, 20 minute interview with the son in law, Thomas Mann, they were going to rule this latest shooting accidental, and no charges would be filed, he was also asked about why the R93 was so prone to accidental discharges, the chief stated that the police departments examination of the firearm was inconclusive, when pushed further on the issue, the chief responded with "*censored* happens" and shrugged his shoulders.
"Right now, I am thinking that If my grandmother was here, she would be lecturing me about how there are poor people in Africa, that would just love to have a Ruger, I would just say "Great, granny, lets just ship all the Rugers to Africa!"

Loving life in the Great Northwest one day at a time.

It sounds like it's time to get a new gun.

No, you can't since you've already read the story. That would give you facts before actually coming out and saying "The police acted stupidly."

She must have been a true monster in law in order for that bolt action to accidentally discharge 3 times.
