6' 8" 248 lbs. 61 years old. I drew an Any Bull tag for the rifle season at Rimrock. Hitting the weights and trying to walk 15 miles a week. I hauled 2 rounds of fir up 78 steps four times in a row, the day before yesterday. Gradually working up to doing it 10 times without stopping. I did that three years ago to get in shape for a guided hunt in the Bob Marshall. We rode horses 30 miles in and camped for 8 days. An awesome hunt, five of the six guys in our group shot bulls. Check out the YouTube video my son put together and see the nice 6x6 he killed. I think you'll like it. It just might keep you motivated. My neck is swelling up already!

I love this thread. besides the weight lifting, shooting, and cardio one thing that I've found extremely helpful and easy to do is stretch the leg muscles every day. You can do this infront of the tv at night and it only takes 5 mins. I've found this reduces muscle soreness and most importantly reduces recovery time when your muscles have been worked hard. Trust me, this will make getting out the tent on day 2 in the mountains much easier. Keep it up fellas....Train hard, hunt easy.

stretching i think is really under looked. I feel stretching helps a ton later on!

been doing my heavy lifting as usual im behind on my cardio. definitly gonna start it up this week though
