The gas station/store in Toutle has the Weyerhaeuser maps. That's where Rick said he got his. I got one there four years ago, but I think it was only $3.99 then.

I paid like $10 or $12 for my map at the Toutle store last year.

I had this tag two years ago, and had considerable help from members on this site, coupled with scouting trips.  I am probably more help to the rifle holders as that was the season I got, so if you need any advice let me know!

Here's our Bulls.  I never saw anything spectacular in the unit, but it was a ton of fun.  It was frustrating to see 7 4/5 points the day before season and then not see another bull until Wednesday night though haha :)  But man, there was a lot of action, into elk daily.

I have found that the Weyco tree farm maps are dead nuts accurate as far as reading the road systems.

I saw it a few posts ago where someone said that the DNR roads are the lines not numbered. That is true. As i understand it the Weyco land gives way to DNR wildlife management areas headed down towards the Loo-Witt and the North Fork. Anything numbered on the Weyco map is on their timberlands.

I don't know how the rest of you feel, but I think Weherhauser is an excellent steward of the land. I wish more of us were better stewards. If there wasn't so much abuse of these foreast lands they might actually leave more of the gated areas open.

Has anyone noticed that 90+% of the beer cans thrown out on logging roads are Busch Lite. WTF????

When EITW did their clean up in Winston this year that was the majority of beer can found.

Busch Beer if favored by the loggers.

Of all the years to draw a Toutle tag. My daughter, who is pregnant has a rifle tag. She will be 8 months a long mid November. Last time I hunted the Toutle was 1999. My wife got a small 3pt around the 3000 line.

Would prefer not to take my daughter all the way up there. And I don't want her to cancel out her tag. Never know if she will draw another tag in the next 10 years.
Any Idea's closer in??

If you guys are going to be on the south end over next week keep an eye on your stuff. There is a rainbow festival going on. Meaning a lot of freaks camping out. There have been problems already in Skamania County. If you want more information on them do a google search on them. Enjoy your weekend scouts.

The state is not always completely inflexible.  Myself, I would make a phone call to the director himself and see what your options are.  A daughter that is really good at crying on the phone might make a big difference ;)  It's worth a try!

Good luck!

There's a broke down rainbow painted school bus right off the freeway in Woodland. The hippies were scattering like cockroaches.

I just looked at the LC and Weyeco maps at Bob's and I have to say that they are not very detailed. The Weyeco map use to be much more detail. To bad. They still work just not like it use to be. I wonder if the gametrails maps are still good quality.
