Nice work Charlie.  Glad to hear the original cape will be used.  Looks like your woodworking skills are not too shabby either.
Look man, some times you just gotta roll the dice

Looks like fun Charlie.  Let us know what you think about the form.  Ive got a couple of 380 sets I need to do.  Ive just been up in the air on which forms to use.  I think I defiantly want to try Aaron's pedestal though.  I just don't care for the legs being so pronounced and chopped off, but that can be fixed.

His form is the best sculpted form I have seen. Everything is so accurate its not funny. I actually have a picture that I seen in Feild and stream, I found out who the photographer was and bought a print just to compare. Its is extremely close  when comparing to the picture. Personally I like the legs on it , it gives the form action. The right leg is forward and the left is moving back a little. This is the form I bought to mount my 370 bull on but wanted to test it before I mounted mine  :chuckle:

Awesome work! Can't wait to see what it looks like when it's finished.

Good story and great work. Makes me wonder how come the mount doesn't cost more!

That is a wicked cool mount.  I think you have wonderful talent.  That wood is a perfect match.  Looking forward to the rest of the process.  Thanks for letting us look in on your work, it is a real treat and gives me fuel to hunt harder and longer.

Thanks guys, but its the sculpter of that form that should be getting all the credit right now, he does some amazing work. I just need to dso my part when I get done mounting it so I dont make his form look bad  :chuckle: I took pictures with my rack on it also jst to make sure I was going to like that form on my bull

One of the cool things about a pedestal mount is that it is literally a 360 degree mount, technically you can put it out in the middle of the room and see it from every angle. Let me tell ya, It definately makes me go back to the hunt , remembering the things he was doing when I was watching him, seeing him from the back walking away, I dont know its just cool. Now Im gettimg amped to mount my bull, probably going to try and get it done for the taxidermy competition in January in Pasco.

Charlie, just wondering; why closed-mouth?  I assume the client wanted it that way, but can this form not be ordered closed mouth without you having to modify it?
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

That form comes with the bugling mouth but can be ordered without the mouthcup so you can close the mouth wich is what Im gona do. They sell a change out head without the mouth cup so I will go that route. Customer did not want a bugling mount, more of a head up sniffing type mount.
