At 2800 fps into solid moose meat and bone I'd say that Core-Lokt held up much better than I would have thought.

I take it shot placement was a little better on the elk ;).

Darn good pictures thank you.
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

He was faceing away, centered on his neck and shooting sticks, I was shocked when he didn't drop. :yike:

I am not familiar with moose antimony, does moose have a pretty large mussel mass all around the spine on the neck? How mush mass is around the backside of the neck?
Nothing like a Remington model 700xcr.

He had 3/8's of hide and about 12" of meat before the neck bone. And in the rut so his neck was tuff.

PABEN,

I never would of believed that wouldn't of knocked him on his ass. Truly amazing that he kept going with a shot like that at such a close range  with a 7mm. thats just nuts.....
I kill elk and eat elk, when I'm not, I'm thinking about killing elk and eating elk.

It doesn't matter what you think...

The Whiners suck!!

BTW, I would like to say I like core-locks on deer and bear, done shooting them now that I reload. I've been shooting them since my 30-30 days at age 14. But they do come apart.

Took 10 points for me. See the red marks on his shoulders, looks like blood shot meat. That's from fighting, they will most always come in to a call, they like a fight.
