Drop away or an old standard rest.  I got talked into a WB and hated it.  It is a tree needle, leaf catching, and twig snagging SOB.  If you hunt in open country or from a stand it is ok I guess.  Hard on vanes too!  Just my .02.  Any pro shop in Western Wa that tries to sell you one is a shop I would not recommend!

Check out Quality Archery Designs (QAD) pro hunter.  It's a bit spendy, but has dialed in my groups a whole lot more than my other rest.
I have the same one and love it.  My hunting buddy was using a whisker for years and I finally convinced him to the try this one.
You also get a cool QAD decal for your truck!..since we all know we love out decals..

i also have the same one and really love it

Is there anything else besides the Quality Archery Designs Ultra Rest? Which ever model........ Ive tried quite a few fall aways, and its BY FAR the best! Trophy Taker is somewhere back there, but far far behind the QAD Ultra Rest. Everybody I bow hunt with (if they can afford one) has one. Superior quality, superior design, what else is there? I've also shot WB's and they work ok for the kids and my woman. :)
I'd rather ask forgiveness than permission!

I use a fall away but put the WB on my sons bow as a started, found it is very easy to tune! He is ready for a drop away now so I will be changing that soon. I found that putting on my own Blazer vanes with a dab of glue at the front works very well and I do not have to replace a lot of vanes at all.

I take a spare WB hunting because they are cheap compared to the drop away so if I break my rest while hunting, I can put on the WB, tune it quickly and keep on hunting  :IBCOOL:

BTW...they have little rubber arrow holders that glue onto the front of the rest to hold it from flopping around :)

Good luck,
Fulla

i say wb simply because it contains your arrow when stalking and you dont have to keep a finger on the shaft to contain it. i think its a toss up myself

I have used both off and on since I started shooting a compound. Started out with a whisker biscuit, then switched to a fall away and then back to whisker biscuit and then finally to a limbdriver fall away rest.

IMO the fall aways seem to be more accurate, and quieter. Plus if you are worried about containment get a fall away rest that gives you containment problem solved and you get a quieter more accurate rest.

I had a whisker on my Mathews Drenalin for two years and messed with it the whole time trying to achieve the groups I wanted and never did. I put the trophy Taker full containment on, tuned it up and my setup is way more accurate now.  When I think about it I get mad at myself for messing around so long with the whisker, it just didn't perform to the level I wanted to get to. I had immediate , drastic improvement with the drop away.   Mike

I picked up the apache and its fantastic.  My groups are excellent and I dont have to worry about the damage to the veins or anything.
I've spent most of my life hunting and fishing....the rest has been wasted

QAD ultrarest gives you that same thing in a drop away. Amazing rest.

get a trophy taker and be done

 :yeah:

:crap: NO containment. Don't waste your money. QAD Ultra rest is the final answer.
