Shooting Bowling pins

I posted about the new Kimber I bought a few weeks ago. I havent realy been into pistols but sense I got the kimber, I'joined a indoor range down in Centralia thats open 24/7 so I've been able to get some target shooting in.
Every Wed. down at the range they have a bowling pin shoot, I shot in yesterdays match and had a blast. Some of the guys are pretty good but most are fairly new pistol shooters like me. I'm going to try and go again next week.
Heres a picture of the pins set up at 25 feet. Now I know shooting at 25' sound pretty easy but when your up there shooting against another guy it's more chalanging then I thought it would be.

Bowling pin shoots are GREAT, we used 5 pins at 25 feet. off the table or no count! 2.5 -3 seconds was a winning time, most were much slower.

That sounds like fun! I've shot a lot of bowling balls, but no pins. Now I need to find a source for bowling pins....

The bottom table is 3' widewith the pins set up front. If you knock one over, with a end hit the down pin will just sit there and spin. To win your pins must hit the floor before the guy's pins on the table next to yours.

Check the bowling alleys around where your at.  A lot of them sell old pins for pretty cheap.

I am surprised that the Centralia Rifle and Pistol Club is allowing this. 

Anything that flies around, falls over, or spins when it is shot is more fun than paper though.

Couldn't help it, had to chime in on this one. We always bring bowling pins to hunting camp for any last minute sight ins that are needed, they are just perfect for it. We camp at a lake and drive into our hunting spot every morning and evening. We were sitting around the campfire and some guy from a neighboring camp happened to wander by because he saw the bowling pins ( we usually burn them in the camp fire after using them to sight it) he walked up and said "Cool, bowling pins, what do you use them for?" We told him "for sighting in"....then he says "Cool....where'd you get em"?.......It went dead silent...we all just looked at each other, after a very uncomfortable 5 second pause my brother says...bowling alley....? We all just burst into laughter, the poor guy shook his head...smiled and just slipped into the night....probobally had to have been there but it was absolutely hysterical

Red dot sights were made for pin shooting.

We can use laser's at Centralia. I dont know if thats the Norm. for everywhere.
