Look what I called in with an RandR Call this morning.
« on: July 03, 2011, 03:57:03 PM »
Went up to my buddys house to get my 308. I decided to give this deep canyon a try to call in a bear. I was using an R & R call that Rick sent me for free. It was one of his new calls. Anyhow, I get out of my truck and just start screaming on this call. A muley doe is the first to show up from the opposite side of the road snortin' and carrying on. She gets about 15 feet from me looking at me with a WTF attitude !! So I turn around and was calling and looking through my binocs, (multi tasking) and I see this black spot about 500 yards across the canyon and it disappears. So I'm still calling and look to my right and this bear is 12 feet from me, looking and smelling. I got a few pictures for everyone to look at. This bear kept coming towards me and wouldn't leave even with me saying, Go on bear, get ! So for my safety, I pulled out my Glock 40 cal and put a bead on it. It turned around and went down the hill maybe 6 feet and I got it to come back to me for more pictures. I might have to download more and put them in a reply.

I've called in just about everything that will come to a call in Washington, either on purpose or not. But calling in a bear is the biggest rush I've ever had. It is just flata$$ cool. I could not even hear that bear being that close to me. I could hear him sniffing just a little bit and that's it. He was that close to me. Talk about silent, but deadly.
