I'm not a big Mathews or Bowtech guy.  Both are too damn expensive in my book.  However, in my opinion all you have to do is shoot the Invasion once and I think you will be sold!

Ultimately it is up to you.  Throw out the names and evaluate each one from a clean slate.  And, be careful not to make your decision based upon the three digit numbers on the chrony they really mean nothing when you are using a sight.  You use a 50 yard pin at 50 yards whether shooting 275fps or 310fps.  And the over/unders are just not there between the two bows.
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

Their both good bows, I've shot both and like the Invasion better. You need to shoot both and decide which one you like better.

Shoot and decide for yourself.

Personally, I would go with the Invasion because I like the CP bows for hunting (not that it kills any better than others).  Just go shoot it.

I had it set in my mind I was going to buy a Z7 but I wanted to shoot everything I could first. I shot everything from a Z7, Hoyt, PSE and Bowtech. The crazy thing is I ended up buying a bowtech Assassin because it felt the best in my hand and it was crazy cheap in my mind. I put $150 sights and a $125 rest on it to get it where I wanted it to be and I'm still way below the Z7 and Invasion and I got the bow that felt the best for me.  It wasn't just the money it just felt the best for me. All I can say is shoot everything you can before making a decision.
A Bowtech shooter now

 Is it Sept yet?????

Arrow is exactly right. When you are committing that much cash to a bow then you better shoot as many as you can. Many shops have a decent stock and will let you shot them. You have to do this. Hopefully they go to the extent of even getting it setup for your size. You will narrow the field to a top five easily from that just based on how it feels. All these bows are producing very similar results so you really can't go wrong unless it doesn't feel right. Ex. just chrono'd my Bowtech Sentinel and my friend's Z7. 270 ips for each with our hunting arrows. Then you want to get to know how the shops you are buying it from is to do business with and the company too. Warranty? Good reputation? etc. Ex. I am real happy with a warranty issue that came up on my bow and how Bowtech handled it, but then another friend bought and Elite and was amazed with their warranty: lifetime transferrable warranty, plus if anything goes wrong in the field they will set up a new bow with your exact configuration and next day air it to get it to you anywhere in the world! That sold him and he now owns an Elite.
The difference between hunting and dating is who mounts the trophy

If you're looking for a lightweight, compact bow with some speed behind it, checkout the Athens Ibex --- http://www.athensarchery.com/bows.html .  They run $150 cheaper than the mentioned bows.  The draw cycle and wall are really nice.  Also, Athens has some of the best customer service that I've ever experienced.

Man, can't believe there were not more votes for the Z7.  I love mine, shoots tight and quiet.  Draw is smooth.  Small valley...but that tends to make my hold pretty consistent.  Everyone who ever shoots at the range when I'm there drools when they see my bow, hitting 5 inch circle at 70 yards (field tips, helical blazers, Beman MFX 10.7 gpi).  Broadheads aren't quite that tight...but killing an elk at 70 yards is definitely in the cards.

Oh, the Z7 is a fine bow.  I was drooling over the Extreme Tactical the other day.  Talk about a ninja bow!  Anyway, it's just that there are so many fine bows out there these days, that it really comes down to personal preferences.  And I'm sure you know pretty much any bow out there is capable of a 5" group at 70 yards if both bow and arrows are setup correctly.  The rest is up to the shooter, so kudos to your shootin' skill.
