i need to get out tomorrow for a bit. getting the fever. just talked to the guy pouring my new barrel's. going to do some clear and Floresent ones. nice going. cant wait going to be a good year. Rick
Campmeat, any size to them? I saw 5 out there last year, but they were all fairly small. I've been holding out for a big one.
I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but IMHO your making a mistake calling in bears prior to the season. All game animals become much harder to call in after they have been called in and educated. Be it turkeys, elk, coyotes or bears. Your only going to make it harder for yourself or others to call these bears in again. Also give this some thought. I have on a couple of ocassions called in bears and after sizing them up decided I did not want to shoot them, too small, however they became aggressive. I always carry pepper spray as an alternative to shooting them. If you go out and purposely call in a bear and then have to shoot it out of self defense you will probably be charged, and probably should be charged, with hunting bear out of season. Just something to keep in mind.
As you can see calling DOES work!
campmeat how were you calling them? fawn or calf, distressed or not? ect
Campmeat do you mind sharing which one of his calls that you are using?
here are my favorate bear calls. these are my DA1 style was it the openreed on the right or the bigger one. i'll get a picture of my DA2. Rick
question, would any of the verminator predator calls be successful for bear? i mean, they are prey animal death/distress calls
verminator calls will work. put emotion into it. my calls must suck here no one ever comment on the. just disapointed. been working hard all day making bear call's. burnt my lathe up. Rick
