Green River A mod fire tag
« on: June 27, 2007, 09:30:31 PM »
OK, so now that the deadline is basically up, has anyone hunted this, or know someone who has? I worked up there just once and saw some nice cuts. If I get drawn, I'll chit myself, but may as well think optomistic.

I doubt that mountain is up the green river. Resembles the Grand Teton in Wyoming.

D-man what are you smoking?
Nope, haven't hunted the Tetons, though I would like too, and yes there are nice Cutts there too, Golden Cutts to be exact.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

Hey Dman,
If you look at the second page of this forum there is a post my me titled "King Co Blacktail". Since you asked, I'll let the cat out of the bag. I drew that tag last year and the picture in that post is of my hunting buddy and the deer that I shot on that hunt in the Green River Watershed. I should be getting the mount back from my taxidermist in the next couple of weeks or so. I'll post pics for sure.

Thanks! Now I am stoked. I may just have to forget about trying for a muley if I don't get drawn this year and keep putting in for Green River A.  ;)

Just to let you know Dman. The country is very thick and not very open. I shot that buck on the third day and had not seen a shooter until I saw him. All of the bucks that I saw were small spikes and forks. Over half of the hunters took smaller bucks. That is not to say that there are not some real nice deer in the unit, it's just that it is not alot of open country to hunt. Good luck on the draw!! You will have fun no matter what if you draw!! ;)
