Value of neck sizing brass?

I know that when you neck size brass (as opposed to full length size), you get more reloads per case due to less stress and reforming of brass.

Can you also expect an increase in accuracy?

I've never heard it improved your accuracy.  Case life is why I do.

Brass thats fired in a rifle and only neck or PF sized is a custom fir for that chabers rifle. I've read that is suposed to be better for accuacy.

I've heard the same as the case is not expanding each time to fit the case chamber. My buddy does this and his shells are harder to chamber to shoot as the case is already expanded. Feels weird to me, but he shoots awesome groups, so who am I to judge?

Yeah I wouldnt do it for a hunting rifle because of the hard to chamber factor some times. For a paper only rifle it pays off with a little tighter groups.

Very good article!!!! With my 7mm Rem. Mag. w/Nosler 160gr AccuBond, I used IMR 4350 got good groups. Then went to RL-22 got better groups. Then went to RL-19 and stacked them on top of each other. The only thing I did different was use different powder. My 7mm-08 never shot good groups w/factory ammo. With reloading and powder the groups are getting better. But the magazine wont take the longer bullets. So I'm playing w/powder to tighten up the groups. BTW, i'm using 140gr nosler accubonds w/the 7mm-08.

there is so many factors that come into play when loading and exspecting dead on accuracy ... bullets -primers- trimming casing .. sizing ... some serious reloaders even weigh the casings .... and of course the shooter ... I never full legnth size my casings and it does make a differance in accuracy BUT DO NOT GIVE BULLETS TO A FRIEND if you are just neck sizing because most likely they will not work in there gun do to the casing being formed for your chamber not theirs !!!

Ditto.  Accuracy might be a slight side benefit, but not so a barbarian like me would notice.  Full length resizing is a must for autoloaders, and RCBS is even making a line of "Small Base" dies for the AR types.

I use starting loads to fireform my brass then neck size,then load up and keep the easy ones to chamber for hunting and if any hard ones i use for practice.
