New sidearm for the woods
« on: July 07, 2011, 11:13:27 AM »
Thanks to a Hunting-Washington member I have a new sidearm to carry in the woods.....I purchased a Ruger Blackhawk .41 cal with a 6 1/2 in. barrel with Rosewood grips and an extra set of Pachmayr grips.....Can't wait to get out in few and go put a few rounds through her......
I didn't fight my way to the top of the food chain to be a vegetarian

I saw a woman wearing a sweat shirt with "Guess" on it...so I said "Implants?"

Crowded elevators smell different to midgets.

Yeah, I am gonna have to get some reloading supplies due to the cost of ammo for this thing.....may just try a different boxes this year to find what it likes and then do some reloading over the winter.......Even gonna try some Buffalo Bore in 230 gr. I am hoping to maybe hit a couple of places that have firearm restrictions this year, I'm sure this will get the job done....

That will be a great sidearm for the hunting woods.  I would definitely start handloading for it, as custom bullets as shown above will cost you an arm and a leg.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.
You are never to old to learn something stupid.

Congrats! The 41mag is a great round. You should defenitely start loading you own. High performance factory ammo is not cheap.

My favorite heavy load was a duplicate of the Federal 250gr CastCore factory load. Some 41's don't shoot the 265gr+ bullets well, and 250gr was the heaviest I could get good results from.

Just picked one up, haven't even shot it yet. Way sexy handgun/caliber combo.
