Both the SBE II and the Maxus and many other quality guns come with shim kits so you can adjust the cast, drop and LOP so the gun does fit you.

Both the beneli super black eagle and the beretta auto are superb weapons the baretta is slightly softer with a few advances in recoil twared the stock. But because they are both autos its not something I would really worry about. Last time I checked they were both around 1700 so its just slightly out of your window. Just think about it as an investment. Also if you want to save money remington is making some really nice lightweight autos that handle up to 3 1/2 . The remingtons run about 800. I would buy a Remington 1187 and save myself a butt load of money! I hunt with guys who have the high priced shotties and they dont kill birds deader than mine does. My Remingtons are very comfortable to me. They have never failed me and believe me, i have put them to the test. If you wanna have the super duper fancy gun then sure, spend it all. If thats what ya want then hell ya! If ya want a very nice, reliable as all get out, never gonna fail on ya kind of shotgun then get a Remington 1187. Hey, its all about opinions on here. I think mine is worth

I shoot an SX3, which is supposed to be the fastest shotgun in the world, but you will never need to shoot as fast as it does. I like how it can shoot a 3 1/2 inch. Don't really use it much, but it is nice to have just in case you want to. It is comfortable and shoots well. It is pretty light. My dad owns a Vinci, which is even lighter. I have shot it and it is comfortable as well and shoots nice also.

Extrema 2. Very noticeable difference in recoil with heavy loads compared to sbe2 and same price. Got mine for 1400 out the door and haven't had a problem in 3 seasons with frequent use

You know, I have seen just about every semi auto come threw the duck blind over the years. Most days they work. Most have failed at some point. Freezing rain, sand, crappy shells etc... Pump guns and over under's just work. Not wanting to change your mind from an auto, cause they are great. Just wanted to give you someting to think about. My duck hunting buddies have all gone through the "auto" stage and are back to a pump gun, (mostly a simple 870express) or a Browning Citori. If you want to get a High dollar gun, try a 3 1/2 Citori, great shotgun!

I had this same issue last year when I was looking fora new auto shotgun.

Trust me I looked at, held, and shot almost everything out there. I was wanting my first Auto ever and I been doing the pump thing with the same shotty for over 20 years.

Well after months of trying all of them Auto's out I bought the 870 Express Pump. Yep didn't find a auto that I liked and something about the pump kept calling my name.

Great gun for the price in my book and has proven itself time and time again in the field...

i shoot an 1187. spendy but more affordable than most. i shoot 3 inch shells and never once have had a jam. the only problem ive had with it is the extractor broke off once. my fault though. otherwise the gun preforms flawless. def would not be disappointed with the gun  . Been thinking about the vinci though, heard some good things about those, bit spendy though.

an expensive gun would be great to have, id love one. but- for an every day shooter in a duck blind, boat, laying in the bushes ect... i would be very timid with it & hate scratch it. as it is i usually have to clean after a hunt due to sand & crap in it. cant really help with a brand but as said before, most of my budds have gone back to pump guns & leave thier nice autos at home. good luck, hope you find what you are looking for.

Take the guns out and use them.  They are tools for harvesting birds.  All the camo is worn off mine just about.  I have purchased most of the newer auto loaders and either hung on to them or sold the ones I didn't care for.  Right now I have the Benelli SBEII, Beretta Extrema2, and the SX3 which is new that I have enjoyed the most for shooting.  I have a few of the 870 expresses, BPS 20, 12 & 10. and a few Nova's.  I think for pump guns I like the BPS the best, but love the Nova for the elements.  I flat dirt the birds with the nova.  My shell bill is expensive with the auto loader and I just can't fire 1 shell.  I can have the gun empty before my buddy has fired his first shot.  I may calm down and pick up the camo citori this year as I may look to get back into sporting clays comp and the Krieghoff isn't the one I would take out duck hunting.

I started shooting a beretta al391 last year and may never change hunting guns. The only issue I have with it is it can be tricky to put back together after cleaning, but it is a very smooth shooting gun and (for me) shoulders like a dream. Whatever you get make sure it fits you nicely, and take into account the extra layers you will be wearing when you are out in the mash
