dont waste your time on post. seek game else where because i tried last year and did not even see a single deer. hunting season is short so  use it wisely. :)

I have seen deer on North Fort on several occassions in the past few weeks . . . But if Ft. Lewis is a waste of my time then does anyone have any suggestions on where I should start? I just moved to the area so any info would be greatly appreciated!

To bad you can't hunt in Dupont. There is some wall hangers running around the area. You will see them during the rut but they hide out the rest of the year.

I know, I already saw a beast tearing up the bushes near my house a few times. I see deer around Dupont going to work in the AM and coming home in the PM almost everyday.

Yeah I work at the SF building and we have some studs all over the property. I posted a pick of a 140 class deer on here awhile back. Search Dupont blacktail.

I've had luck in an area that used to be called Area 12. It's basically on Ft. Lewis side not far from the cross base road at the end of the McChord runway. There are some old apple trees and several oak trees that drop nuts which definitely attract them and I've seen deer in there several times along with some large bucks. Never got a big buck, but a couple does and a bear. The scotch broom in there sucks!

Olympic - I will have to take a look in that area. I think I know where you are talking about.

Area 12 is closed to ALL hunting due to the mock city out there. Which makes me madder than a wal mart worker on the 1st and 15th. That area has some critters in it. Ive seen deer, bear, bobcat and yotes all the time. Chambers lake was one of my most productive duck spots in the whole state! Now its closed to ALL hunting. Ive hunted that area my whole life :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash:
