i put a muzzle break, trigger job on mine and it made the world of a difference. its louder than heck but, use earplugs when target practicing  and your good to go. your buddies next to you when you shoot an animal will complain a little but your shoulder sure feels better.

you might wanna look at matrix bullets. they have a vld in a 30 cal 210 gr. with a .752 bc that would turn your rum to a long range hammer. just wish they had a 250 gr. for my 338 rum. although the 225 gr. ab does just fine.

My 300 rum loves the 180 grain accubonds and have accounted for two elk, both complete pass through penetration at 150 and 395 yards.

I use 200 grain accubonds in my 300 ultra mag and it has worked really well. I don;t like the noise of a muzzle break so I put a bear trap in the stock of mine and it really cut the recoil down. The bear trap is a recoil reducer that is installed by removing the butt pad and putting it in the stock and epoxy it in place and putting the pad back on the advertizement says 40 per cent recoil reduction and I have them in several guns. You can look them up on the computer a lot of trap shooters have them in there guns.

Hey killmore, I had brett from armswerks here in bonney lake do my work he is awsome. He just re worked my trigger. I think he took it down to 2.5 pounds. Another thing I had him do was he custom makes the rail scope mount system that holds together good. I used to break the regular leupold rings. Even the dual dove tails. Haven't had one problem since o switched

200 grain accubonds are what my .300 RUM likes. Kicks like a mule because I don't use a muzzle brake or aftermarket recoil pad (limbsaver), but I can shoot around 40 shots before my arm falls off. Great North American game medicine tho!!! :hunter: :bfg: :cue:

I stopped shooting at 40 rounds because of the price. Darned expensive. I have enough brass saved up to start reloading this round, just have not gotten around to it....
