Savage Mark II scope issue
« on: July 27, 2011, 09:02:10 PM »
Well I got a sweet Savage the other day, accutrigger and such, but it needs a scope. So I bought a Centerpoint AR22 series 3-9x32 with the red and green mil-dot. Friggin sweet. But my 22 is drilled and tapped. And didn't come with Weaver mounts. And the internet says size 16 or 24. But I dunno which it is. So does anyone know what size mounts I need? And another issue, can I buy over-unders that attach to the weaver rail AND let you see your sights? Cause the iron sights seem quite low. OH! And has anyone else had ejection problems? Mine won't unload a round if it hasn't been shot.
Make every shot count cause ya might not get another.

Take it down to Hamiltons or Gary by the fair grounds and ask them. Then come home and order it online, unless they have it in stock. You might pay more if you want it right away. You could google the model number of your gun for Weaver mounts and that should help too. Or just call Weaver.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

My Mark II would hang shells up, I guess it's extractor wore out after a few thousand rounds but to be fair it has a pretty tight chamber. I called Savage and they shipped me a spring, guide and extractor at no charge, it took all of 30 seconds to swap out and no problems since.
The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.

savage has extractor issues when they get worn, mine will barely launch them, more of a dribble  unless I yank the bolt when cycling.

as for the mount, don't bother with using your irons if you have a scope, it's just a pain and you probably won't anyway. DIP makes a sweet mount for the savage.

Never, ever let Creed hold you baby, it will ruin it and you will have to get another.
