Found my biggest blacktail shed
« on: July 13, 2011, 02:09:38 PM »
I was cruising timber up by Carnation the last couple weeks and I found my best blacktail shed to date. No ATL pics because I was in a hurry and it was pouring rain. I was working off an abandoned road (choked with Alders growing on it). I found this shed a mile back in, on a steep rock/dirt slide with few trees. It was a nasty place, steep, bluffy, and dangerous. There are no clearcuts in this area, just older timber.

There was very little deer sign, a couple rubs, and then this shed. I did find a set of huge fresh deer tracks and a ton of bear damage. Enjoy.

Oh, rough scored it at 55 4/8". Double it and add a 15" spread and its 126". 4pt with an eye guard. I'd be really happy if I shot him!  :)

Perfect! Now you know where to hunt this year.

I found it up on Hancock's Snoqualmie Tree Farm. I dont have a key, and Im not buying one, therefore this buck will not be hunted by me.

Plus, the place I found it was so miserable, even if I could hunt this buck it'd be a coin toss whether or not I would. There are some good bucks in there.
