Glacier peak early buck

I was looking at joining some friends in the early hunt.

How busy does it get up there?  Lots of competition, or wide open spaces.  I hate pumpkin patches.

wide open spaces if you look at the sky, otherwise lots of competition and concentrated hunters.

There are popular spots that you will want to avoid but other spots that are seldom hunted at all.  It appears that some places will be difficult for horse people to reach because of downed trees and snow.  For a packpack hunt those spots will be a good bet.  i would avoid places like the Entiat, Chiwawa River and Icicle Ridge area because they will be open to stock and hikers. (except maybe Buck Cr Pass if it stays closed). Same situation exists in the Pasayten.   About September 10th, check with the Ranger Districts to see what trails have remained closed or not logged out and go there.
