Gunsmith in Seattle/Tacoma area
« on: July 17, 2011, 01:08:50 PM »
I was wondering if anyone knows a good gunsmith in the Seattle/Tacoma area?  I am looking for someone to do some trigger work on my Ruger M77  MKII  .300 win mag.  I bought a Timney trigger and want it put in my rifle.

There is a gun smith in Tacoma on 50th and Tyler street, in the same building as Mary's Guns.

I cant remember the guys name, but I have seen his business card at Wholesale Sports on the counter. I used to have one but gave it away and keep forgetting to grab a new one  :dunno:

I will just offer that dropping in a Timney trigger is super simple, at least it was for my Weatherby (Howa) Vanguard..

Even comes with instructions. I do not know how much more difficult dropping one in a Ruger might be.. but you might want to take a look on the instructions. Mine took no more than 5 min. Would probably save you some time and money too.

Yeah on their website is says they are really simple to put in but I have never messed with anything like that so just to be save I thought I would take it to someone.  They said there is a little filing to be done on the safety with the Ruger so I just want to be safe about it.  I figured a few more dollars would be worth knowing its done right.  Thank you to everyone that has replied.

Those triggers a very easy to install. If you can put fuel in your vehicle or change a spark plug in your mower, you can install that trigger. The filing is not always needed but in any case, it's a very simple procedure.

At any rate Mike Palazzo is a master gunsmith and he will treat you right. He has done tons of trigger work and builds some of the most accurate rifles in the Pacific Northwest.
