Is that some burger? If so, we use our deer burger up very fast! A family can make a fine dinner from a pound of burger.

LMAO, it SCORES quite nicely with the family when you bring meat home. And that is what its all about. Oh and by the way I grind the backstraps also. The tenderloin usually gets a few eggs thrown in with it.

when you take two moose, 5 caribou and two bear in one year eat all the back strap. They are not that good anymore, but they taste mighty fine with some ground pork and some seasonings  ;)

It is about meat for me....but that is only a small part of it. The stores I go to don't carry venison. I also choose not to shoot younger deer for the fact that I can get twice as much meat from a mature animal.....and it takes me longer in the woods to find a mature one then a spike or a forked horn.

Don't take it the wrong way...I hold nothing against the ones that shoot younger animals. I also drew a cow tag this year and plan on filling that tag....thats good eats. I love to hunt and if it takes me a week longer out in the bush for twice the meat.....that's a bonus.
Just one more day

You can't eat the horns!

I hunt for all reasons imaginable including the meat.

I'll give the vacuume sealed burger a 10, looks very well packaged and good and lean.

Never had " horn soup" that was worth a damn.  I like the meat, and I love the fact of trying to outsmart an animal on its own home territory.
I kill elk and eat elk, when I'm not, I'm thinking about killing elk and eating elk.

It doesn't matter what you think...

I like the meat, but the bottom line is I hunt for the challenge of taking a mature animal..not heading out and shooting the first legal deer
