I'm not sure what's up this year, but I have more Bulls than Cows on my trail cams this year.  I went up to check out three of our cams last weekend and all three have nice branch antler bulls that look like they are almost done growing (i.e., seem to be furtehr along this year than last few years), plus several more branch antler Bulls that are still growing.  One of my cams has nothing but three different BULLs, and me with no Bull tag this year (AGAIN)   :bash:.  Lots and LOTS of bear sign too.  Bears pushed two of the cams around.  While driving the hills between locations, I saw a couple of nice Mulie bucks too.  Maybe it's just where we set cams this year, but I don't really think so.  Anybody else seeing more Bulls, than usual?

No, mostly cows just like always.  Haven't been out as much as I should do, though...need to get out and start walking again.
Of sorrow and sickness I've known on my way,
But I'm old and I'm nervis,
I'm cast from the Service,
And all I deserve is a shillin' a day.

I have only been scouting once so far this year and saw more bulls than ever in one weekend scouting.  Lots of good bulls and a couple of bucks too :)

Heading over today to check my cams that have been soaking for 1 month.... I'll let you know what I see!

More bulls, just smaller.  All the big bulls were poached out of our local herd last year.

Careful, WDFW hears that people are seeing these "Elk" they're going to start loading them in the back of trucks and dropping them off across the State at night!

Thanks PlateauNDN!  Me too!
My son drew a peaches archery tag, and although I scout a lot every season, this year we have been hitting it hard.  Right now we have 5 different camera locations with bulls showing up repeatedly.  I just hope they are still there 35 days from now  :tung:

Sounds like the area you are scouting has the same problem that Yellowstone had years back.  Too many elk.  Thankfully wolves are being allowed to propagate unchecked - they will soon bring this issue to an end and help balance things out for the betterment of all wildlife. :chuckle:

That was sarcasm in case anyone was wondering.  I couldn't even type that without laughing because it sounds so ridiculous  :bash:

Great pics!!!

Looks like "Hell" is the place to be!  "Hell" is codename for Mile marker number 9 up Rock Creek. Shhhh.....dont tell anyone! :chuckle:

Brianmtsinc, congrats on your son getting that tag. How old is he? where you guys planning on hunting?  336 or 346? Could have some info for you.

the bulls are more active this year because of the cooler weather... the heat holes them up and they've been pretty lucky so far this year :)

They won't be lucky for long my little bearded walleye catching elk calling friend...
