I was messing around with a friends blackhawk serpa the other night and liked the but :dunno: I'm open to suggestions. 8)

The only drawback I can think of with the Blackhawk is that the plastic is noisy if you bump it. But with 40 days until the season starts there's no way you'd be able to break in a leather rig. It'd be creaky with every move you make. I have a Serpa for my G17 and it works well. I can't wait to shoot that 10mm.

I'll be packing my LC9. I don't worry about the 4 legged varmints, just the 2 legged ones.

i cant wait to shoot it either!

Been carrying my grandpa's old 357 on my hip for the past several years when I'm in the woods. Never had to use it yet, but I'd much rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Just got a call that the glock 20sf I ordered came in today! :IBCOOL: it'll be fed some 220gr buffalo bore hardcasts. Should be adequate enough for any trouble that may come my way :chuckle:

What's gonna be on your hip this hunting season?

Same gun, but loaded with 200 XTP's. Good choice in pistol...

S&W .44 magnum. Love to see a bear run through a couple of those if my .300 RUM doesn't take it down first :chuckle:

In bear country it's a Desert Eagle 44 mag with alternating 240gr solid lead and 300 gr hollow points.  8 in the mag 1 in the chamber.  Fortunately I haven't had to use it to defend myself against a bear, but you can't have too many bullets when they are charging you.

It depends on which rifle is with me. The handgun needs to compliment the long gun. Any rifle under 30 caliber comes with a 4" Redhawk in 45 Colt loaded with 335gr hard casts. 30-338 gets the 6.5" S&W 610 with 180 XTPs. Any rifle over 338, and the pistol is a Ruger MKIII Hunter. I figure if the one of the big bores won't stop the problem, the handgun wouldn't be much help either. :chuckle:

Then there are the back up handguns which go with the hunting handguns. If the Contender (in any caliber) is the primary, the full sized Kimber goes along. If it's one of the Savage Strikers, then the Chiappa Rhino rides on the hip.

It's all about having a well matched pair.

Andrew
