lets go fishin...O I use to light of line too !!!
« on: July 23, 2011, 03:21:44 PM »
Here is a set up I have been just killing silvers on the last few years ...No sense in going and wasting money on sandshrimp if you fishing the rivers for humpies and silvers...actually I have cought much nicer silvers using this techique than any other but I think the key is to use lighter line like 10# or 12# test // I like Trilene big game ..I use a t-swivel with about 1/2 to 3/4 oz sinker and for my bait line I go about 5' of leader which takes alittle practice to get used to casting if your in a tight spot ..and about 2' above my dicknite I go with a rockett red corky with a tooth pick threw it ...that holds it in place plus I can adjust the corky up or down ...it seems they really hit it more with the corky on their plus it keeps the dicknite up higher and gives it more action ...here are some I cought on 10# test ..just a couple teeners :chuckle: :chuckle:  I know the line is to light  :sry: :dunno:

10 is NOT too light....  :P ..... :dunno: ........we use 8lb leader and 10lb mainline. Good idea using the corky to keep it up higher.

12lb is my "heavy" gear for river fishing salmon (including kings), I frequently use 8lb for anything smaller than kings.
The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.

I really do like that pic in the net with the dick nite in his mouth, I like that color for silvers too.
