Got my first!
« on: July 20, 2011, 07:54:00 PM »
Funny, my dad and I were talking earlier today about after all the years we've been into shooting bows neither of us have ever pulled a robin hood. The ironic thing was Ive never shot from or hunted out of a tree stand. Something I'm planning on doing this deer season. Well when I got home I set up my stand (Ive had for about ten years  :chuckle: ) and shot my first group. When I climbed up for the third time and let my second arrow go is when I heard it. I first brushed it off just thinking busted knock but when I walked up I noticed it right away! Pretty cool, I was shooting about 25 yards. Mathews Switchback XT that archery288's dad had just recently hooked up with new WC strings and cables. Wisker Biscuit rest. BTW, this tree stand thing is going to take some getting used to! :chuckle:

Congrats! I have never done it with my bow but have done it at 20 yards with my 8 year olds bow. Man he was mad when I told him I broke his arrow. Lol

I've done it a few times before I started shooting my Z7 at different spots at 20 yard.

That gets expensive after you first few times.  You almost ruin 2 arrows at once!

I'll never understand why people congratulate each other for this. That's about $20-$30 down the tubes.

No kidding! Even at $20 or $30 it is still a lot cheaper than any animal trophy I have on the wall :chuckle:
I wouldn't be as excited if I were considered an "avid" archer, but with all my hobbies I shoot a total of maybe 3 or 4 months a year depending on what weapon I choose to hunt with. Definitely not a year round hobby for me.

Went and did it today....   :bash:   Perfectly centered @ 20 yards.  I haven't been getting super tight groups, so it caught me by surprise.

Luckily only one arrow was lost but it does look kind of cool.

when you do it at first you go yeah that's cool, then you think about the  money gone and you go (explicative curse word) that's allot of money wasted  :bash:
