Stock help
«

I got a heavy barrel for my 243. My problem is no one sells a stock with out having it custom made for $$$$. Has anyone ever modified there stock to fit a larger barrel by using a dowel and sand paper? My stock is synthetic.

its very stupid and was very annoying. but my friends dad got a broom handle or something that was the same diameter as his barrel. then heated the stock up with a heat gun and used clamps to clamp the wood into place and slowly but surely with alot of heat in all the right places got the broom handle into the stock.
it was a snug fit with the barrel and works ok from what ive seen.
looks like crap though

i think a rat tail rasp would do a very quick job on the synthetic material. ive used a regular rasp to alter combs and grips.
