Wierd buck

This was out in my dads yard today. Check out the strange lump on its face. Any ideas what it is? I'm guessing a infected tick or something.

I've seen deer before with growths like that, but not on the face. I just think it's a wart of some kind.

I've heard and seen deer with horns out of their forehead but below the eye like that is crazy.

It's a fibroma, a viral skin tumor.  Doesn't hurt the deer unless it interferes with feeding.  They can get very large, and very numerous.  Won't hurt you if you eat the deer, it's on the outside of the hide and comes off with skinning.  Ugly, though.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

I've seen some deer with hundreds of those things.  Pretty much grossed me out.

It is pretty gross.  Not sure I would want to eat him, but then again, if I shot him, I would have to!

Just slice it real thin, cook it with some butter and onions, then put it on a cracker. YUMMY!
