Kain I just googled Vantucky.... Wow lol. back to the rabbit thing I kind of want something that will make a lot of noise to help attract the predators, and don't want to have to break a rabbits leg to get the noise lol

A few years back, PETA showed a cat caught in a claw trap. That year the WA voters took away the right to trap fur bearing critters, (even moles in your yard), as well as the right to bait blackbear.

It is legal to bait cougar, coyote, bobcat. You cannot bait bear, waterfowl, or game birds.

I think you should check into animal cruelty laws if you plan on using live bait. Also consider a shaded area, water, food, and that the animal is able to move about, etc.

would it be baiting if I tied one of our living goats to a tree somewhere and waited to see if a cougar (or any other predator) would show up? just letting my goat clear some brush while I sit in a stand with my bow lol

The bait animal would be completley protected and two of us in tree stands with plenty of fire power. I think I'm going to go with a chicken because I have heard they will make more noise and I plan on having fried chicken that night lol

the goat won't be bait,... it will be out in the wilderness enjoying nature,.. eating natural food,.. maybe even see its cousin (deer)

bring a guinnie hen or two, those damn things are the absolute noisest birds and all you got to do is hook a string to the bushes by the pen that you will have them in and just pull the string and they will cut loose, dont worry about trying to hear anything comin in ..cause you wont hear a damn thing

unless you plan on letting the cougar eat the guinnie hen first i wouldnt recomend buying one dont forget you have to take it home

Oh after I'm done using the chicken to lure in a cougar I'm gonna butcher the chicken, and I'll try to get some video but pictures for sure.
