Seattle couple frees coyote's head from jar
« on: July 28, 2011, 02:46:11 PM »

A coyote with the jar stuck on his head has been freed.
The three to four month old pup was spotted in the Rainier Beach neighborhood on Friday with the jar on its head. Animal shelter officers said by then, the jar had been on the animal's head for about a week.

A Seattle couple sprung to action when they spotted the coyote stumble into their yard on Monday and pulled the jar off the young pup's head.

"It was emaciated and I assume, pretty dehydrated. It had been losing weight and appeared in a weakened condition," said Don Baxter, from Seattle Animal Control.

Animal Control says the pup should have a quick recovery and is optimistic for the coyote's future.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

I wonder what type of jar that was?  I don't condone littering usually, but maybe a few strategically placed jars out there could help thin the coyote population...... :dunno:

$0.50 just to put bullet in and pull Jar off.  That's very simple.

"One does not hunt in order to kill; on the contrary, one kills in order to have hunted..If one were to present the sportsman with the death of the animal as a gift he would refuse it. What he is after is having to win it, to conquer the surly brute through his own effort and skill with all the extras that this carries with it: the immersion in the countryside, the healthfulness of the exercise, the distraction from his job."
