Well I scouted Idaho unit #4 and put up some trail cams yesterday. Looks very promising. Saw some cow elk later in the evening...Lots of country...Can't wait til the season begins....

Looks good man, I have been up there a few time and am overwhelmed by the amount of country there is to hunt.  You get the a tag or b tag?  FYI you can pick up wolf tags for 31 bucks now, might wanna throw one in your wallet incase you see one!

I went with the b tag, but im gonna try and knock one down in the archery season.   Yeah they just released the wolf tag prices and its 31 for non residents across the state, i hope i dont see any up in unit 4, but if i do they are toast.

In your second pic, Idaho2, the ridge leading up to that clearcut should be hot! I wish you luck, man. Post some pics if you get anything. I hunt up in NE WA and I cant wait to creep through some timber after some big bulls.

First time hunting Idaho for elk?

Nope just came out, they went statewide instead of lolo, selway and middle fork, 31 everywhere, you can buy them online, only option is a $31 gray wolf tag.

i was prospecting up by Thompson pass today saw a nice little bull moose.  We went over the pass into montana and north to roxon mt. then over through clarks fork Id and Priest lake. Awsome trip.  Ended my trip back by Deer Park WA.  Hope to do it again but our next trip is lolo pass to check it out for gold.  ;Anyone know when the season on wolfs starts in that area?

Yes this will be my first time hunting idaho. Hopefully the elk are in here. This was a pretty far and long hike to get it. It's in a far ways from roads etc. so hopefully The elk will be in here! If anything I will post up pics....even if I am not successful I will be taking many pictures throughout the trip!
