I'm glad everyone agrees with me.  If you want to go hunt in goat country, find a high country mule deer.  Those bad boys live up in the crags just like goats.  You don't have to hold a permit to roam in the goat rocks.

I would find a big horn ram a much better trophy than a spindly horned 9" goat.  Or how about those great Rosevelt Elk you guys have on the West side.  With those thick late season capes and a royal rack, now thats a head turner.

A big Tom Cougar too.  Man, having one of those in the trophy room all done up would excellent.

Just saying.  Goats are cool and all but please consider all the other excellent game animals around you too.  Goats are not particularly wary and they only inhabit a small home range.  They don't really hide all that well either.  BTW my wives first big game animal was a 9.5 yr old billy.  We're talking about a mother of three, housewife, that decided to climb a hill with her hubby. Her second game animal, 8' coastal brown bear, yup another easy walk with her hubby.  Heck my kids were roasting dogs on the beach while that one went down.  She hasn't even gotten a deer yet.

Just saying.....I hope you enjoy that exclusive WA tag.  It's a shame they don't offer more.

FYI, Mt. Goat hunts are not as expensive as sheep or grizz up here.  Anywhere from 7-9k.

Congrats!  Wish we could have made the trip.  I hope the little bit of information I gave you helped out.  I know you put in the hard work on your scouting trips.

Can't wait to see the pictures.
