Unit 18 Tag Blues
« on: August 03, 2011, 11:45:51 AM »
So I drew my Unit 18 Big Bull tag this year. However, my husband was laid off last week and I cant get it now.  :bash: So my blues are starting to sink in. Anyone draw this? I would like to hear the stories and the end results of what I am going to miss out on this year. Sounds like a punch to the gut kinda to hear the other stories but I would love to see GREAT pictures of the hunt you go on (scouting and such too!)! Let me know. . . Maybe I will get my first elk in WA this year. . .spike maybe? We will see. . . .Blues Suck!

Tough break, but it sounds like you're rolling with the punches. My hopes are for a quick end to his unemployment so you could still go. Good luck.

Talking Idaho right?
Huntnnw and I drew muleys tags in 18 this year. That sucks that you can't put that tag to use. Can you apply next year if you don't buy the tag this year?

Nope I dont think I can put in for the tag next year. . .so I have to wait two years just to try and get it again. Wish I had a rich In-Law or Family member. . . .O So SO bad. . .  :bash: BUT! The muley's they pull out of there are great! I drew my Unit 14 Muley tag last year and shot a beautiful 5X5 on the opener. Love hunting ID. Good luck and I would like to see what you get with that tag!

My husband and I are on the "Dave Ramsey" plan. It is just money but we don't have credit cards. . .we pay with cash only. If we don't have the money then we don't/can't buy it.

I didn't buy the tag  :'( I almost cried when we decided not to buy it. . .I know such a girl but that could have fulliled my biggest dream on bagging a huge bull. . . plus I have never heard them buggling in the wild. . . would love too. . .Maybe I will just go to go. . .hummmm. . . . But on the bright side someone was saying that I can still apply next year?  :dunno: If so that is good! Maybe I can bag a nice White Tale this year and it will be all good. If anyone has a good spot for that I do have a tag for them!  ;)

Like I said if my husband had not lost his job we would have bought the tag.  We had already set up scouting trips and such with a friend over there but because we lost the main source of income we had to not buy the tag. . . touchy group this is. . .

Some people suck. Ignore the ones who do. The rest of us feel your pain. You're doing what you have to do. Rock on, lady!

Thank you. My husband is actually not going back, we are very excited about that oddly enough. He is in school to be a lineman so if he gets a job out of school and I have the luck of the draw with me next year there should be no problem in me getting it!!! And if there is I think maybe I will see if anyone wants to sponser me next year. . .Its weird never really thought people to be willing to do that for another. It was heart breaking but that gives me more time to focus on a bear and deer (I drew my late rifle for deer too this year) in the good ol' state of Washington. And maybe with any luck my first elk will be a spike! Thank you for the good words boys. . .
