We were up Andrews as well.  You must have seen us , only boots on the trail with rifles. The trail we were heading for was blown out with snags and overgrown, we turned back. Should have headed for Remmel.  :dunno:

Yeah I remember seeing you guys, I was riding the black horse, my wife was with me, and we had a pack horse. We stopped and talked to you. I almost came back and got you when we saw the first bear, but I was afraid of missing you and we had a pretty long ride ahead of us (about fifteen more miles). The bears we saw were between a mile and a half and two miles past the cut off that you said you were taking.  Remmel is pretty far for a weekend hike, if I was seriously bear hunting I would have stayed back down by the edge of the burn and hunted around all of those berries. I looked for you guys on the way out in case you got one and needed help packing, but when I got to the cutoff and saw your tracks heading back I figured you must have went back out on Friday or Saturday. The deer tracks almost completely covered your tracks up. It was our 10 year anniversary trip so I was getting pressure to not be hunting, going on a horseback trip was a stretch in itself. If I shot one of those bears we saw on the first day and went home I probably wouldn't make it to my eleventh anniversary. To bad about that trail being blocked, if you guys end up going back Andrews is all clear.

Funny when you run in to people in the woods and then find them on here,  :hello:,  We packed back out on Friday , the trail head off Andrews was okay for the first 200 yrds, the next hour sucked, went home and spent the weekend in the boat fishing ( picked up 3 salmon). I need to find another place on the map to pack in to. Tough hikds are okay, over logs and through brush with a 50lb pack is too much,

Glad you had a good / safe trip, as you guys rode off we stood there with our jaws on the ground like FRICK I NEED A HORSE!!!
