what is the aprox height of the cam? I am leaning towards bear so far.. but cam height would be nice to know

Its a bear...the snout is too wide and extends up the face to the eyes.

Brian, I dont know what you have in that picture but i will say this..
two weeks ago i would have said you were nuts for even asking...
But I had what I thought was a bear cross a trail infront of me in 101 two weeks ago. I thought it was a bear until I saw its tail! :yike: It was bigger than any wolf I have seen in AK or Canada! and if it wasnt a wolf someone is missing a jet black 200 pound dog.. (a long ways from anything!)

I would have to say bear as well. Usually k9 species have beety little yellow eyes.

  Ya, Matt. i saw a set of a single track last season in the snow  and 3 sets together, all adult animals all in the N.E. corner of 117

Bear, wolves got light colored eyes usually yellow.

Bear, the curiousity of the wolves is very different than this bear.  Watched eight of them near Whitebird last winter.  Very interesting.  Hope to help fill the local's tag this fall/winter.
