Haven't heard of it. I have heard about the 300g 338cal. I know they made some but the first batch didn't work great. Can't wait to see them when they come out.

i have spent maybe 15 rounds, accuracy is great.did a newspaper test. compressed newspaper at 100 yards similar results to a berger. it looked just like the 168 gr. 7mm we took outta my buddys bull. penetration was 11" those free papers are good for something. i love em

Just looked at the web site...

http://matrixballistics.com/.308-Caliber-rifle-bullets.html#matrixballisticsVLD

They seem to be identical to the Berger.

Wondering if their VLD 210 can be used hunting? That is a CRAZY BC for the bullet.

The matrix bullet's BC's look good on paper, but even they will tell you they are computer generated BC's and not real world.  In testing the 6mm, 7mm, and 30 cal versions, they are almost identical to the Bergers.

I have a few hundred of the new 230 Bergers to test out as well as the 338's.  So far this group of 338's are way better than the first gen ones.  Holding up at the higher velocities and are extremely accurate.  BC is close to .8 at the 2950 velocity.  Have to see how they perform on critters this fall.

That's great I am thinking of trying the gen 2 .338's in my 340wby.

It is not considered a hunting bullet though, right?

They have a little thinner jacket than the 300gr SMK's, so I am sure it will work fine.  The Sierra's do a nice job, so I am sure these will work out as well.   I am going to try to do some expansion tests when I get builds caught up.
