Yeah I drew it last year. Sorry, but I think it is waaay hyped and over rated. Id agree with all the recent information on how the unit has gone down hill. I hunted it in a foot of snow, saw tons of deer. Mostly dinky bucks and lots and lots of does. The manzanita is extremely tough to hunt muzz in. That is where the majority of the deer are. I hunted hard in the burn areas not seeing so much. I camped at round lake the first couple days then had to move lower since it was snowing so much I didn't want to get stuck. Ive actually heard the archery tag is the one to have since you get a little closer to the rut. The area had some big issues in the past with people coming over the crest trail line during the general and hunting the unit. I guess it hurt it pretty good. I'm actually done with OR for awhile now. I have 8 speedgoat points on the back burner until the state starts producing better quality. Kinda P'd me off when they doubled all the non res fees. I ended up shooting a meat buck. Same with another guy I knew that had the tag the same year. He shot a spike. I'm sure a guy could find a big one, but it is literally like finding a needle in a haystack. Good luck!

He may have a waaay better experience than I did though. I also drew Entiat last year so I had two hunts to look forward to but at the same time I didn't have enough time to dedicate 100% to each hunt. I went into that Met hunt blind other than info I gained from others and studying maps. It is beautiful there but that friggin manzanita I tell ya.... :bash:

Bummer because I had a killer waterproof map I had custom made for that area and I think I just threw it away a few weeks ago. I'll check my stuff if I get a chance and if I still have it I can mail it to ya.

You don't need a seat cover... With all your kids now just cover it up with one of their car seats :chuckle:
