tips on bear calling anyone?
« on: August 10, 2011, 01:29:08 AM »
I was looking around and couldn't find a topic on this so I thought I would post it. I am sort of new to bear hunting and I was wondering if I could get some tips on it. When it comes too a predator call how long should I call for? and are rivers good to hunt? or should I look at clear cuts? any advice would be greatly appreciated, like I said I'm new to bear hunting so I barely know anything. Thank you for taking the time to help another hunter out.

I call mostly clearcuts with canyons if they are available. Or thin forest with creek bottoms or water troughs for cattle. Bears gotta cool off. Or, if I call with thick timber, I try and find a long road where you can see them come in. You have to watch it because they're coming for breakfast. Better off having 2 people for safety reasons.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............
