This is a bucket list hunt for me.  I'm getting anxious for this and have started the count down.  My hunt starts Sept 26 and goes thru Oct 2.  19 hour drive on either side of those dates to get there and come back.  It is near Outlook Saskatchewan.  I've got 2 cases of shells, a 10g and a 12g ready to go, I have my 10+ yr old geriatric deaf lab in shape (she'll do as much as I let her, given her age I will not over work her), I have my nearly 5 month old puppy coming on-line nicely (she'll just get some ducks as I do not want her having a negative experience with a goose since she's still young, but she'll be able to experience goose shooting on a big scale and see how it's done), I have a very large cooler for bringing back the birds.  The rest of the prep list is long...

It will be awesome!

You probably already know this but leave the dogs at home when your hunting the cranes. They'll put a serious hurting on a dog if crippled and its best not to risk it.

Good luck! Also be prepared to get torn apart at the border but you'll be fine.

It shoud be a good year up there.  You will shoot a bunch of birds.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

I'll be there the first week of October myself hunting upland birds and ducks. We will be staying around Cadillac. What's the nearest town you'll be in?
